The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts provides a rich and comprehensive educational program for students grades 9 through 12 with talents and potential in dance, instrumental music, visual arts, vocal music, theatre and ice skating. Admission to LVPA is based on audition. This regional model will enable each student to maximize his or her special talents. Our graduates will increase the quality of their life, the lives of people who surround them, and the respective communities of the Lehigh Valley.

Congratulations to Junior Olivia Lynch

Olivia has been named one of Pennsylvania's top ten athletes for the 2007 school year.  Olivia was honored at a special brunch and awards ceremony at the State Capital building in Harrisburg on April 2nd.  She has the double honor of being the first African American National Champion.

Kristin Loerch who passed her US Figure Skating Novice Freestyle test.

Erica Scherer who passed her Intermediate Pair test with partner Philip Dulebohn

Rachel Fitzsimmons who traveled to Detroit to skate with Olympic and World Ice Dancing coach, Igor Shpilband

Kimberly Wolfe who placed 1st for the Freeskate 2 level at the 2008 Spring Sectacular competition

Upcoming LVPA Performances

 
 
May 3 & 4 - Young Choreographers in Concert

LVPA's Dance Seniors present the final product of a long term creative process begun in their freshmen year and culminating in Senior Composition where they are formally trained in the craft of choreography.  The performance is held in LVPA's Black Box Theatre. 

 

May 16 & 17 - The Vocal Music Department Presents

Ann and Seamus - A Chamber Opera  This performance is based upon the true story of the Harvey family of Newfoundland, Canada.  The work was written for youth voices and is a beautiful blend of Celtic folk with a modern twist.  The performance will take place in the Black Box Theatre. May 16 & 17, 7:30pm,  May 17 2:00pm

May 16 & 17 - SpringDance Presented by LVPA's Dance Department is a concert of original works choreographed by LVPA dance faculty to showcase the artistic and technical abilities of our dance students. The concert is held at Lafayette College's Williams Center.

Spring Music Concerts:

All concerts begin at 7:30pm and will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on 8th and Walnut Streets (36 s. 8th Street) in Allentown, PA.

Directions to St. Paul's

From Rt 22, exit south on 7th Street, go 1.3 miles, turn right on W. Union Street, turn right on S. 8th Street.  St. Paul's is on the left.  All parking at the church is reserved for handicapped.  Additional parking is available at the parking garage on Walnut or on the street.

This performance features the talented student/skaters from LVPA along with Nationally and Internationally recognized guest skaters.  the performance begins at 7:30pm.
