The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts provides a rich and comprehensive educational program for students grades 9 through 12 with talents and potential in dance, instrumental music, visual arts, vocal music, theatre and ice skating. Admission to LVPA is based on audition. This regional model will enable each student to maximize his or her special talents. Our graduates will increase the quality of their life, the lives of people who surround them, and the respective communities of the Lehigh Valley.

Student/Staff Population
The student population is 440, with a high degree of diversity and 110 students in the current senior class. The faculty numbers 40, 33 percent with advanced degrees and an average of 7.5 years teaching experience. The current staff to student ratio is 1 to 9.6.
Accreditation
The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts is fully accredited by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Education. In November 2006, The Middle States Association recommended full accreditation for LVPA.
District and Community
LVPA is located minutes away from historic downtown Bethlehem, the heart of the Lehigh Valley community. Located approximately 60 miles northeast of Philadelphia, the Lehigh Valley is home to many notable colleges and universities. A great diversity of cultures and historic preservation are prominent features of the area. LVPA is currently drawing students from 40+ surrounding area high school districts.
Curriculum
The college preparatory curriculum is designed to develop individual potential while meeting the entrance requirements of America’s competitive colleges. The program of studies contains a full complement of college preparatory courses and each academic discipline offers honors level options. Advanced placement courses are available in English, American History, Spanish and Calculus. Students participate in a comprehensive Performing Arts program for three hours each day.
All Students receive a GPA based on a 4.0 scale; however, LVPA does not rank and no courses are weighted. Pass/Fail courses are not included in the GPA.

History – 4 credits Foreign Language – 2 credits
Performing Arts Major – 16 credits
