Is there any charge for ice time or instruction?
No. Two hours of ice time are provided each day – Monday through Friday. There is no charge for LVPA instruction from our on ice faculty or from our off-ice instructors in Ballet, Theater and Personal Fitness.

What if my son or daughter wants to skate additional hours?
Free skating sessions are available for purchase from the Steel Ice Center beginning at 3:00 p.m. each day. This time would have to be purchased by the skater.
-
Does my son or daughter have to be a serious competitor in order to qualify for the Figure Skating Department or LVPA?
No. The important thing is that each candidate has a passion for Figure Skating and dreams and goals to pursue in that regard.

My son/daughter is actually a serious competitive skater, or my son/daughter is very serious about becoming a professional skater in an ice show. Can your program accommodate these needs?
Yes. Our skating curriculum is created individually depending on the skills and goals of each student. We have already had several skaters who have participated in qualifying competitions including the U. S. Junior National Championships. Three of our skaters have gone on to professional skating careers. In fact, one young lady graduated from LVPA and began rehearsals in a professional ice show the next day. She is currently a junior in college and continues to skate with the show.

How does my son or daughter qualify for the Figure Skating Department?
Each candidate is required to pass a performance audition conducted at the rink. This requires the skater to perform skating elements choreographed to music. Arrangements for auditions should be made through the LVPA Registrar at (610) 868-2971 x137.
