Andy Bauer earned a Master of Music degree and Performer’s Certificate in euphonium from the Eastman School of Music and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University of PA. Aside from his full time teaching schedule, Mr. Bauer also maintains an active roll as a freelance performer on trombone and euphonium.
Locally, he has performed with the PA Chamber Brass, Allentown Band, Allentown Symphony, Dave Neith Orchestra, Silver and Brass Trombone Quartet, Billy Bauer Band, and his own unique duo of violin and euphonium called Appassionato. Other recent performances include playing trombone in Muhlenberg College’s Summer Music Theater production of The Music Man.
Prior to relocating to the Lehigh Valley in 2005, Mr. Bauer was principal euphonium with the US Continental Army Band, the Eastman Wind Ensemble, and the IUP Wind Ensemble.
Mr. Bauer has performed with some notable musicians including Boston Brass, Bobby McFerrin, Billy Taylor Trio, Nobuya Sugawa, Makoto Ozone, Steven Mead and Nicole Cabell. In addition he has had the pleasure of performing under the batons of Jack Stamp, Robert Reynolds, Frank Batisti, Allan McMurray, Col. Arnold Gabriel, Col. Thomas Rotundi, Lt. Col. Andrew Esch, Eugene Migliaro Corporon, Frederick Fennell and Donald Hunsberger.
