Ashley Tait is part of the theatre faculty, teaching beginning and advanced voice and movement and acting courses. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2008 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with dual degrees in Theatre and Interdisciplinary Fine Arts Dance Track.
Since graduation, Ashley has worked with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Fine Arts division, developing curriculum frameworks for dance. She has also worked with the Pennsylvania Governor’s Institute for Art Educators updating web content and performing theatrical dance works for fellow Art Educators.
Ashley has worked with several choreographers from the Philadelphia area on original dance pieces. She is also an active volunteer with the State Theatre Center for the Arts annual production of the Freddy Awards. She recently began attending East Stroudsburg University’s Graduate program for Secondary Education with a certification in English.
She received the 2010 K-12 Teacher of the Year Award for Dance from the Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (PSAHPERD); and was elected to be Vice-President Elect for Dance for PSAHPERD’s board.
