Barbara Smyth is a Bronx native. She graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY with a B.B.A. in management and a minor in computer science. After college, she worked as a trust administrator for Manufacturer’s Hanover in New York City.
While raising her family she kept busy as a Girl Scout leader, a member of school committees and owner of a daycare business. Since moving to PA, Mrs. Smyth has worked in retail, banking and special education. She discovered LVPA while searching for a high school for her daughter.
She felt lucky to not only have found a great school for her daughter, but also a job for herself that is constantly changing and challenging. Although her daughter has graduated,Mrs. Smyth continues to commute from the Poconos because she enjoys working with the dedicated and caring staff of the Educational Support Services Department.
