Greg Eicher’s professional music career began in Kansas City in 1980 when he began playing with such prominent musicians as Dizzy Gillespie, Mose Allison, Eddie Harris, Jimmy Witherspoon, and toured with Eddie “Cleanhead” Vincent.
After touring the United States and Japan with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Greg settled in Los Angeles in 1988. In LA, Greg performed with such well-known jazz artists as Jack Sheldon, Les McCann, Ross Tomkins, Barbara Morrison, Cybill Shepard, Conti Candoli, Betty Bryant, Anita O’Day, Robert Lamm, Niki Harris, and Lanie Kazan.
Greg’s film and television performance credits include the Tonight Show, The Frank Sinatra Story, Monk, Nixon, Batman Returns, Cybill, The Rat Pack, Gilmore Girls, Grace of My Heart, Kettle of Fish, and several Discovery Channel documentaries. Moving with his family to the Lehigh Valley in 2006, Greg has most recently performed with Simone, Bob Dorough, Vicky Doney, Petula Clark, Janet Carroll, Skip Wilson, Bill Washer, and Gary Rissmiller.
A tremendous supporter of music and jazz education, Greg is a bass teacher and student combo coach with a private studio for over twenty years. He has performed lecture/demonstration Young Audience Shows with the Los Angeles Jazz Society and the Charlie Parker Foundation in Kansas City.
