Mary Anne Hoffman began her dance training with Ronnie Clifford and the Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley under the direction of Alexi Ramov. She was a member of BGLV’s Apprentice and Performing Companies where she had featured roles in many ballets, most notably Swan Lake, Coppelia and the Nutcracker.
She furthered her education at the PA Governor’s School for the Arts and as a dance major at Boston Conservatory and continues to attend master classes and workshops. During her employment at BGLV she had the opportunity to study with the National Dance Institute under the direction of Jacques d’Amboise.
Following her performing career with dance companies in Albany, Harrisburg, and the Lehigh Valley, she discovered her love of teaching. Ms. Hoffman has been on the teaching faculty of Pennsylvania Youth Theater, Repertory Dance Theater, and various other Lehigh Valley dance schools. She taught at the Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley for 14 years, where she was also Ballet Mistress for the Apprentice Company.
Her choreographic accomplishments include a commissioned piece for Bethlehem’s 250th Anniversary Founding Celebration, presentation of several of her works at Regional Dance America Festivals as part of the Emerging Choreographers Showcase, musicals at Whitehall and Freedom High Schools and PYT, works for Dream Kids, and Moravian College’s Carmina Burana and Collaboration.
Ms. Hoffman is currently the Artistic Director of the Moravian College Dance Company, adjunct faculty at Moravian College, a dance teacher for the after school ASPIRE Program in the Bethlehem Area School District and an arts-in-education presenter throughout the Lehigh Valley.
