The Hard Bean Café, Bethlehem’s Southside “alternative’ coffee shop, hosted a reception on April 30th at 7:30 p.m. to kick-off a month-long show—from April 30-May 28, 2010—featuring two floors of original work from LVPA’s 15 graduating visual arts seniors. “Our seniors spend the entire year creating original work in non-traditional portraits, sculpture, and contracted studio work that prepares them for the business of being an artist,” says Lorie Reinhard, LVPA’s Director of Visual Art. “In Retrospect,” a 36” x 48” oil work painted by LVPA’s Candice Carroll from Brodheadsville is now a part of the LVPA permanent art collection of pieces purchased by the school.
