This amazing Old Time Music trio brought joy to students!
Jake Hoffman, Peter Winne, and Sam McDougle make up the old time music trio, Tumbling Bones. They came to LVPA and taught a master class for our instrumental students with their unique style of old time and all American music. This class allowed students to broaden their skills into another genre of music. The trio also played in one our dance classes, where dancers had a moment to kick up their heels and step into the world of square dancing.
- “Tumbling Bones had a unique sound and was different from the styles of music we usually get to hear. It showed us that there are more ways/styles of playing professionally that we may not have known about prior to the master class.”
- LVPA Senior Instrumental Major - “Tumbling Bones was an entertaining group with nice harmonies in their instruments and vocals. It was cool to hear their style and more modern interpretation of an older style.”
- LVPA Jr. Instrumental Major - “The Tumbling Bones inspired me to pursue music in a way I never thought possible.”
- LVPA Senior Instrumental Major - “Tumbling Bones is energetic and lively. Their passion and rhythm is contagious and inspiring.”
- LVPA Senior Instrumental Major - “The master class was a fun, enjoyable experience. It inspired me to try different tunings for my violin.”
